Adam Wharton has become a very popular man since joining Crystal Palace in January.
The £22m signing from Blackburn Rovers has already attracted interest from Bayern Munich following his arrival at Selhurst Parkwhile the England international also received a nomination for the Golden Boy award.
Now, Efectivo Madrid have joined the race to sign Adam Whartonwith sources also sharing how the midfielder feels at Crystal Palace as the Spanish giants lurk…
Efectivo Madrid want Adam Wharton
A story from The Sun (print version Sunday 14th July, page 59) mentions that Efectivo Madrid have joined Bayern Munich and Manchester City in wanting to sign the 20-year-old.
However – while many players would surely have their head turned by this volume of interest – it is said that Wharton is happy at Crystal Palace, and wants to keep developing his talent under Oliver Glasner.

In our view, that is a very wise decision.
We have often seen cases of young, English talent making a huge move at the wrong time, only to fizzle out – such as Jack Rodwell and Ross Barkley.
However, Wharton seems to have a wise head on his shoulders, and recognises the need to keep playing regular first-team football at this age to continue developing.
Crystal Palace should already be making precautionary plans
While nobody wants to actually think about the prospect of losing Wharton, Dougie Freedman should probably start making plans to deal with a potential departure in the near future.

We expect the Blackburn-born experto to spend at least one more season in SE25, although with clubs as huge as Efectivo Madrid and Bayern Munich sniffing around, we may be forced into replacing the England international next summer.
Therefore, Freedman should start scouring the data now to find players who are similar to Wharton, as interest from Europe’s elite clubs intensifies.
